182mm and 155mm Slit coils in SS Grade 550 / Grade 80, Z275 GSM in ASTM A653 for Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar for Light Gauge Systems
The metal cutting procedure is known as “steel coil slitting” involves slicing large rolls or coils of sheet metal with exceedingly sharp rotary blades. To create straight lines, they are longitudinally sliced into the wide coil, creating thinner strips. As the coil is moved by circular blades through the slitter, cuts are formed. These are referred to as “knives” and can be adjusted to fit various widths.
The slit pieces are cut with the same length but a narrower width. The original coils are first unrolled on an uncoiler drum before being flattened on a leveller in preparation for slitting. Slitting stainless steel allows for a wide range of widths. Each stainless steel application needs a specific stainless steel coil slitting capability. Slitting can be utilised for stainless steel slit coil and sheet as effectively. The blades must be made specifically for the task at hand for every work. When it comes to cutting steel coils, precision is everything.
ASTM A653 SS Grade 80 / G550 Steel Coil
Structure-building steel that has been hot-dipped zinc coated and has a splattered surface is known as G550 galvanised steel. It has a 550 MPa guaranteed minimum yield strength. In roll-formed sections, it is frequently used for structural purposes. As specified 182mm and 155mm Slit coils in SS Grade 550 / Grade 80, Z275 GSM in ASTM A653, our firm, DANA Steel, enforces strict requirements to guarantee that all of the galvanised steel coils we produce and provide are of industrial grade. These coils are subsequently utilised to construct light gauge steel structures (LGS).
The A653/A653M Standard Specification for Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy Coated (Galvannealed) Steel Sheet. This specification applies to steel sheet produced by the hot-dip method and coated with zinc (galvanised) or zinc-iron alloy (galvannealed). The name of this organisation is shortened to ASTM, or American Society for Testing and Materials Standards. A-653 is one of its branch standard numerals. ASTM A653 is the specification for hot-dip galvanised iron alloy or galvanised steel sheets.

ASTM A653 Benefits
Thin-coated hot-dip galvanised steel has good fusion and processing capabilities. It can be applied to a range of tasks, from casual use to precise sketching. Thick materials that have been hot-dip galvanised have great corrosion resistance. You can use a number of apps by choosing spangles and post-processing options. Due to its excellent coating adhesion, ductility, and corrosion resistance, hot-dip alloy steel performs well throughout processing. It benefits from a nice appearance and the flexibility to be used in situations when the surface is not painted.
Classification according to ASTM A653
The several names for the substance are as follows:
High strength low alloy steel is available in various forms, including commercial steel (CS Types A, B, and C), forming steel (FS Types A and B), deep drawing steel (DDS), extra deep drawing steel (EDDS), structural steel (SS), high strength low alloy steel (HSLAS Type A), and high strength low alloy steel (HSLAS Type B) (HSLAS Type B).
