DANA RBD (Refined Bleached Deodorized) Palm Olien is obtained after fractionalization of palm oil. The fractional part of Palm oil is obtained only after its crystallization is carried out at controlled temperature ranges; palm oil finds its application in cooking and also can be used as a fuel.

Applications of Palm oil
In Food
- It is widely used in food applications such as cooking and in a variety of food industries like spreads, confectionary fats, ice-cream, emulsifiers and margarine.
- Refined Palm Oil can also be used as a source of fatty acids, Vitamin E and emulsifiers
- Palm oil can be used as a cheap substitute for butter or hydrogenated vegetable oils, due to its highly saturated nature.
Biomass and Biofuel
- As of 2018, almost half of all the imported palm oil in Europe was used as biodiesel.
- Moreover, by-products from palm oil’s processing like oil palm shells and oil palm fruit bunches, can also e used to produce energy, This waste material when converted into pellets that may be used as biofuel.
- Edible Palm oil that has been used for frying can also be used as biofuel, once it is converted into methyl esters.
More about grades
Edible and refined palm oil is available in different grades:-
CP 6
It is mainly used for bottling and also known as Super Olien, it is a softer grade and is obtained by fractionation of standard olien.
CP 8
It is Cholesterol free and contains Healthy levels of Vitamin E; grade 6 is extremely stable and also cost-effective as it lasts long in fryer.
CP 10
It is tasteless and so the taste of food is retained, refined with saturating protected formula, and so oil absorption is reduced during cooking and frying
