Powering UAE Industry: Dana Steel’s Expansion with EDB Support

Emirates Development Bank (EDB), in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), recently conducted a joint visit to Dana Steel’s facility, reaffirming the vital role of advanced manufacturing in strengthening the UAE’s industrial base and driving sustainable national growth.

Dana Steel is proud to be among the UAE manufacturers supported by EDB. Through its strategic backing, EDB has funded Dana Group’s expansion project for Dana Steel, enabling the development of a new state-of-the-art steel complex in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi. With a planned rolling capacity of 500,000 metric tonnes, the facility will produce key raw materials for Dana Steel’s existing metal coating complex in Dubai Industrial City. This investment significantly enhances regional manufacturing capacity, supports import substitution, and reinforces a robust “Made in UAE” supply chain for industries across the UAE and the wider GCC.

The visit was attended by H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB, and H.E. Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD and Chairman of the Export Executive Committee at ADEX, underscoring the strong institutional commitment to industrial development.

As a key player in the steel sector, Dana Steel continues to support critical supply chains spanning construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, while also strengthening export capabilities. Through targeted project financing and agile capital support, EDB plays a pivotal role in enabling manufacturers to scale operations, invest in advanced capabilities, and build resilient, future-ready supply chains.
